Change comes
from a different
experience.

Process-based therapy for the person in front of me — not the diagnosis on the form. We find what keeps you stuck, and we build something different.

How I Work

Treat the person, not the diagnosis. Find the loop that keeps you stuck. Pick the tool that fits. Change comes from a different experience — the goal is that you eventually don't need me.

01

Treat the person in front of me, not a label on a form.

02

Find the specific loop that keeps you stuck.

03

Pick the tool that fits — no one-size method.

04

Build a different experience. That's where change comes from.

01

Counseling that lets you go

Most therapy asks you to understand yourself better and hopes understanding is enough. Process-based therapy works differently. We look for the loop — the pattern of thought, feeling, and response that keeps a problem in place — then change your actual experience of it, not just your explanation.

The work is practical and specific to you. No fixed protocol you're pushed through. We find what's keeping you stuck, choose the approach that fits, and adjust when something isn't working.

The goal is honest: I'm working to make myself unnecessary — you leaving able to meet your own life without me in the room.

Supervision

Releasing, not replicating.

Supervision, done well, isn't about turning you into a smaller copy of your supervisor. My aim is the opposite: helping you develop into your own clinical voice — the counselor only you can become — while meeting every requirement the state expects.

As an LPC-S, I provide individual supervision toward your 3,000 hours, documented cleanly on the BHEC form. Clear guidance, honest feedback, and a supervisor who treats your development as the point.

I also encourage supervisees toward meaningful volunteer paths — the service-driven crisis and counseling work that shaped my own hours — as a way to grow real range early.

Available for LPC Associates across Texas. Agency, group practice, or your own setting — we'll structure it to fit how you actually work.

per session
Private pay. HSA and FSA eligible. Insurance accepted for those who prefer to use their benefits.
Individual Supervision
$150

A note on insurance

Using insurance means a diagnosis becomes part of a third-party record. Some clients prefer to keep their care fully private and pay out of pocket for that reason. Others would rather use their benefits — insurance is accepted, and we'll talk through what that looks like. Both are honored here. The choice is yours.

About

"The goal is that you eventually don't need me."

I'm Matthew Biermacher — a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor practicing in Frisco, Texas. My work is grounded in process-based therapy: treating the person rather than the diagnosis, and measuring success by whether you leave more capable than you arrived.

People aren't problems to be managed. They're individuals caught in patterns that once made sense and no longer serve them. The work is finding those patterns and building a genuinely different experience — where real, durable change comes from.

Alongside counseling, I supervise LPC Associates toward licensure. Same philosophy as the therapy room: releasing, not replicating. I want the people I supervise to leave as more fully themselves, not echoes of me.
